Rules and safety
PvP, explained
PvP is opt-in. Here is what that does and does not mean.
Off until you turn it on
Nobody can attack you unless you’ve turned PvP on yourself with /pvp. And a fight needs both players to have it on, so turning yours on never drags anyone else into one. Type /pvp again to turn it off.
That covers indirect kills too. Lava, fire or TNT can’t be used to hurt someone who hasn’t opted in.
During a fight
| Combat timer | 15 seconds after the last hit |
| Blocked while it runs | Teleports and travel commands (/home, /spawn, /tpa, /rtp, /back, warps), ender pearls and chorus fruit |
| Logging out mid-fight | Kills you, and it’s announced. You keep your inventory |
| Protection after joining or teleporting | 10 seconds after joining, 5 after a teleport |
You keep your inventory when you die, so a lost fight costs you your position, not your gear.
Where you can't fight
Spawn is a safe zone. Nobody can fight there, opted in or not.
The rules still apply
Having PvP on is not permission to ruin someone’s day. If they run, let them go. No killing to take items and no luring people into fights; those are tier 3. Spawn-camping and repeat-killing are tier 4.
If someone keeps coming after you, turn PvP off and use
/report. Fights aren’t logged the way blocks and chat are, so tell staff what happened, when, and who was there.
